An iPhone hotspot is a feature that allows you to share your iPhone's mobile data connection with other devices, effectively turning your iPhone into a portable Wi-Fi hotspot. The RS-1000 uses this network to transmit the video image to the iPhone.

The video connection between RS-1000 and iPhone does not consume any mobile data.

Updating the RS-1000 firmware or the SRA application consumes several 100 MB of mobile data.

Open the Settings app on the iPhone.

Tap on "Personal hotspot". There must be a SIM card in the iPhone for this.

Activate the switch to turn on the hotspot.

The hotspot network name, which corresponds to the name of the iPhone, and the Wi-Fi password set up are displayed here.

Use the Ride Safety app to create a QR code with the iPhone hotspot credentials.

Switch on the RS-1000.

Make sure that the RS-1000 is in pairing mode.

Scan the QR code at a distance of approx. 20 cm.

The camera emits a first sound when the QR code is successfully scanned.

The camera emits a second sound when the actual hotspot connection is established.

A green chain link symbol appears on the status display of the iPhone.

The lights of the RS-1000 change from the pairing signal to the normal rear light.

The Ride Safety app displays the serial number of the RS-1000 in the list of available cameras.

Make sure that the Personal Hotspot is activated in the iPhone settings.

Check whether the battery of the RS-1000 is sufficiently charged.

Check whether the RS-1000 is in pairing mode and ready to scan the QR code.

Make sure that the correct iPhone name and the correct password for the QR code generation have been entered. This is case-sensitive.

Make sure that the hotspot settings match the advanced information for QR code generation.

Try to scan the QR code again if the camera returns to pairing mode after the first beep.

Deactivate the iPhone's active Wi-Fi connection. Go to the hotspot menu and restart the hotspot.

Briefly press the On/Off button on the RS-1000 to send the device to standby and reactivate the RS-1000 with another short press.

If a connection is still not established, restart both the iPhone and the RS-1000.

The RS-1000 can remember multiple hotspot credentials, but only allows one active connection at a time. If multiple known hotspots are available, the camera will connect to the strongest signal.

Make sure that all previously used hotspots are inactive.

Activate pairing mode by pressing the RESET button for 3 seconds with a SIM pin.
